“Lecker an Bord” COOKBOOK WINS Gold
The accompanying cookbook to the WDR program “Lecker an Bord” won over the jury of the Swiss Gourmetbook Award 2023, taking the gold award in the Country/Regions category. Aboard the Unaone, the television chefs Björn Freitag and Frank Buchholz ply the scenic rivers and canals of North Rhine-Westphalia, visiting the state’s most beautiful places in search of culinary treasures and new inspiration for delicious dishes. On land, they explore by bicycle, showing viewers regional highlights, including many that are off the beaten tourist path. They meet locals who love good food and who put their heart and soul into their projects. Whether it’s organically grown meat for the grill or freshly picked vegetables—back on the houseboat, the chefs turn the ingredients they discover into simple and tasty regional dishes. The book was published in cooperation with Hölker Verlag. The Swiss Gourmetbook Award honors the best cookbooks and books for baking, beverages, and enjoyment in various categories.
